WELCOME TO KNOLL HILL OFF-LEASH DOG PARK

PLEASE ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES AND

REGULATIONS WHILE YOU AND YOUR DOG ENJOY THE FACILITY

  • The owner of any dog is liable for damages suffered by anyone who is bitten by the dog while in a public place (Calif.CC 3342-a)
  • Abandoning Animals is prohibited 597.1(a)P.C.
  • Park Closed Sunset til Sunrise LAMC 6344B-2(d)(7)
  • Proof of Rabies Vaccination Required (LAMC 5351)
  • Owners are solely liable for injuries or damage caused by their dog(s)
  • Children under 12 must be closely supervised at all times by an adult
  • Maintenance crews have priority access while working in the park.
  • Absolutely no food allowed
  • No smoking in the parks
  • Professional dog trainers are not permitted to use this facility in any conduct of their business
  • Bicycles, Roller blades, Roller-skates, Skateboards, Strollers and Chairs,  etc. are not permitted inside the exercise area…exception: Wheelchairs
  • Dog defecation is to be removed by owner. (LAMC.53.49)
  • Aggressive dogs are not allowed in the park. Dogs exhibiting unusually aggressive behavior are to be removed from the park at once. (LAMC. 53.34)
  • It is the responsibility of each owner to supervise and clean up after his/her dog(s). To insure a clean and orderly facility. No more than three dogs are allowed per person.
  • For the health and safety of your puppy, no dogs under the age of four months are allowed to use this facility.
  • All dogs over the age of four months shall be fully vaccinated and licensed. (LAMC.53.51 and LAMC 53.28)
  • Dogs with communicable diseases are not allowed on park premises at any time. (LAMC.53.30)
  • Female dogs in any stage of heat are not permitted in the park. (LAMC.53.29)
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times in the parking area. (LAMC.53.06.02)
  • Barking that disturbs neighbors is not allowed (L.A.M.C. 53.63)
  • No smoking in the park.

Liability of Dog Owner for Damages Suffered From Dog Bite

3342. (a) The owner of any dog is liable for the damages suffered by any person who is bitten by the dog while in a public place or lawfully in a private place, including the property of the owner of the dog, regardless of the former viciousness of the dog or the owner's knowledge of such viciousness. A person is lawfully upon the private property of such owner within the meaning of this section when he is on such property in the performance of any duty imposed upon him by the laws of this state or by the laws or postal regulations of the United States, or when he is on such property upon the invitation, express or implied, of the owner. (b) Nothing in this section shall authorize the bringing of an action pursuant to subdivision (a) against any governmental agency using a dog in military or police work if the bite or bites occurred while the dog was defending itself from an annoying, harassing, or provoking act, or assisting an employee of the agency in any of the following: (1) In the apprehension or holding of a suspect where the employee has a reasonable suspicion of the suspect's involvement in criminal activity. (2) In the investigation of a crime or possible crime. (3) In the execution of a warrant. (4) In the defense of a peace officer or another person. (c) Subdivision (b) shall not apply in any case where the victim of the bite or bites was not a party to, nor a participant in, nor suspected to be a party to or a participant in, the act or acts that prompted the use of the dog in the military or police work. (d) Subdivision (b) shall apply only where a governmental agency using a dog in military or police work has adopted a written policy on the necessary and appropriate use of a dog for the police or military work enumerated in subdivision (b).
